It’s that time again. The only criteria for admission to the Springfield Ball Charter School is that you reside in the Springfield School District 186 boundary area. We will be accepting new student applications for our Kindergarten through 8th grade classes beginning on Monday, January 5, 2009. We also offer prekindergarten through the Illinois Preschool for All Program. These are all half day classes. There is no charge for the half-day classes, but you must be screened at the District 186 Early Leaning Center and qualify for the program. Students can qualify in one of three ways:
1. Qualify for an “at risk” program, such as Early Start
2. Low Income
3. All others who do not fall in the above categories
All applications will be accepted until January 31, 2009. A lottery will be held in early February to make up waiting lists for all grades. Families will be notified in March if positions are available. These waiting lists will be kept for the entire 2009-2010 school year and will be referred to as openings become available. Waiting lists are formed every year, so it is necessary to fill out an application every year. If you have further questions, please call the school office at 217.525.3275.
